Signature (2) Edit

I notice that you recreate a new signature everytime you change something small. I suggest you change that slightly. Instead of recreating an entire signature code from scratch, make your original signature take paramaters and default those paramaters to what your 'default' signature uses. Then, when you wish to create a new signature, simply alter thos paramaters. For example, your Halloween signature could look something like this instead. {{User:Head.Boy.Hog/SigReal|background=orange|statement=Happy Halloween|color=black}} or something similar. You basically route the new template through the old template instead of creating a brand new one that will need to be error checked each time. If you have any questions, or want me to configure your original signature to accept what I am proposing, let me know and I will be happy to ablige. Rappy 22:54, October 18, 2011 (UTC)

Seeming how you have two styles (one based off Monchoman45's signature and one based of Godisme's), I'd have to create User:Head.Boy.Hog/SigReal2 for the second and set up both to take parameters. Status legend Edit

B10M: You have got to fix that signature. This is the second time I am telling you this. Look at how many lines of code you’ve left in this heretofore small thread? I told you to speak to Gracey or Rappy about how to minimize your sig’s footprint on pages on which it is placed. A signature that is too long to fit in the box provided for signatures at Special:Preferences, must be transcluded and not substituted. Since you’re here, you can also ask HBH to tell you how to transclude and not substitute your signature. After all, that’s how he was putting his old signature — that also contained tonnes of code — on talk pages. If you keep cluttering up talkpages with so much signature code, we are going to have to limit your access until you get it fixed. Thanks! — Spike Toronto 07:57, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

HBH: If you are looking for a variation of the pulldown signature, you might want to look at the one at User:SpikeToronto/sigDropdown. The way it works is that the first two lines are local, and the last two lines are your home wiki. So, in my case, were I to use the sig at Central, the first two lines would be links to my Central user and talk pages, while the last two lines would be links to my home wiki’s user and talk pages. — Spike Toronto 07:57, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

B10M, the CSS code is pretty straightforward:

It makes occurrences of your name appear in boldface black, overriding the settings in the highlight file as well as any colours you use in your sig (I think). —
